The more I purchase, use, and study electronic musical equipment, the more I find myself wanting to make them better.
Here you can find my write-ups on repairs, some modification, and (eventually) some novel designs of my own. I’ve found myself mostly working at the “ends” of my electronic-drum palate: either at the raw mechanics of the acoustic drums, or at the interfacing of digital/MIDI gear, but I’m working to dive deeper into the raw analog sounds or the DSP-coding/synthesis of sound digital audio.
To take it personally, I personalize.
To exceed the customary, I customize.
To avoid being a hack, I hack.
Sometimes all it costs is a little drilling, soldering, or coding.
